1.What is BBS?

The BBS Network is a public network of interconnected message boards (nostalgically called BBSs, for Bulletin Board System). Think Reddit but built on blockchain and with no central authority. 2.How did you come up with BBS?

There are two seperate developing cultures that led me to the idea of BBS. One positive, the other quite negative. In recent years big tech companies have been increasing their censorship. Not only in the form of banning users but also affecting user reach depending on the topic of the content. The benefit of the internet is to democratize the flow of information. Tech companies and their increasing censorship seriously threaten the progress made in the democratization of our information. BBS solves this issue by decentralizing the domain ownership allowing for countless of different operators to host individual BBSes. Additionally the algorithm for how much reach each post gets is fully transparent and easy to understand. The reach of a post is dependent on how much money someone is willing to pay to own that post (NFT).

The other cultural development, this one positive, that played a role into the creation of BBS network is direct payments directly to content creators. From Brave browser tips, to superchats and Patreon, directly supporting content creators is a budding industry. BBSes built in tokenomics, which I’m sure we’ll get into later, rewards content creators for their contribution.

3.What problem does BBS solve?

Firstly, BBS is censorship resistant. On platforms like Reddit, Facebook & YouTube, censorship is getting stricter day by day giving an increasing amount of power to large tech companies. On BBS there is no central authority deciding which content is allowed and which isn’t. There are multiple operators to choose from and each community can choose to run their BBS on an operator who’s censorship policy is in line with their values.

Countless hours are spent online with no option for monetary rewards. BBS tokenomics allow for all parties involved in contributing to and maintaining the community to be rewarded for their contributions.

4.Why would someone buy a post though?

Firstly you would buy someone's post as a way to reward them for their content. From superchats on YouTube, to platforms like Patreon the culture of direct payments to content creators is blossoming. Purchasing someone's post is a way to reward them.

5.When someone buys a post (NFT) where does the money go?

The money is distributed between the previous NFT owner, the content creator and the BBS admin. If there is no previous owner than the money is distributed between the content creator and board admin

8.How do you plan to bring on users?

We expect to see a natural migration of existing communities to BBS Network. Through Engagement Mining and BBS tokenomics both community admins and content creators have monetary incentive to move from their existing platform over to BBS. Not to mention that there is already a mass migration from traditional platforms to censorship resistant ones.
